When Wind Energy Transmission Texas (WETT) was looking for an all-inclusive integrated video and access control system for their Austin transmission system control center and substations in Texas, they chose Knight Security Systems to design, manage the installation and support their security systems ongoing. WETT builds and operates high-voltage transmission lines in West Texas as part of a statewide program to deliver clean, renewable energy throughout the state.

The Knight Solution
A S2 Global software solution offers WETT an online, web-based remote system with flexible configuration options for managing a variety of users each with unique access permissions and requirements. The S2 Global Solution also integrates video management systems, which allows WETT to perform real time surveillance across an entire statewide system all managed and monitored in one centralized, remote-managed location. And the S2 solution provides WETT the ability to run and schedule monitoring reports and receive those updates and notifications by email.

Julius and his team were glad to receive such dedicated training on how to use the S2 Global interface once the video and access control installations had been completed. “Knight sent a certified technician out to train us, and he was very helpful and easy to follow. I had used a S2 Netbox solution previously, and this new system just required some basic training for some minor changes between the two systems. The trainer was attentive and explained the system in an easy to understand way. I was updating users and setting up permissions in a very short amount of time,” explains Julius.
