Our February Employee Spotlight highlights Frank Rodriguez, a Senior Service Technician from Donna, Texas. He services the South Texas region for Knight Security and has been with the company for 7 years. In this interview, we learn more about Frank: what his interests are, what he does in his time off of work, and what his plans and goals are for 2021.
Do you have any certifications or degrees?
Associates Degree in Electronics and Computer Maintenance. Certified in Milestone, Exacq, S2, Genetec, Open Options, DMP, and Fire Alarm License tech.
What has been your favorite memory/achievement while working at Knight Security Systems?
My favorite memories are whenever I get to go to the annual boat parties, that is when I get to see most of my Austin co-workers. Achievements I would say all the certifications of various systems, which I learned a bunch from.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy the driving between the area that I cover, since I am the only tech covering the South Texas area. Besides that, I enjoy servicing all of our customers and fixing all of their issues that come up.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
My spare time is very special, I spend time with my three daughters and wife, quality time is something they will always remember.
What are some of your hobbies?
Watching movies, playing soccer, and woodworking.
What book have you read, or movie you’ve seen recently that you’d recommend?
Not a big fan of reading but I do watch a lot of movies, my favorites are the superheroes movies. Recommend all of the Spiderman movies.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
1. "Learn something new every day" - Brother
This has taught me to always look for new things to learn, even if it's something small.
2. "Treat everyone how you want to be treated." -Friend
This has made me respect everybody that I interact with.
What’s something about you that may surprise us?
I don't eat seafood.
What are your New Years Resolutions?
Of course, be a better person as a dad/husband, and be a better team member at work. Also to get on a diet...
