This month, Knight is highlighting one of our exceptional Senior Service Technicians, Bryant Reed. Born in Chicago, IL and raised in Sugarland, TX, Bryant has been working in the Service Department at Knight's Austin office for 4 years. In this spotlight, we learn more about what keeps Bryant busy outside of work, what his hobbies are and what he likes best about working at Knight Security Systems!
Do you have any certifications or degrees?
I have an Associate's degree programs in electrical engineering technology, Milestone/S2 Security/Sielox/Genetec (Synergis and Omnicast)/Isonas/DMP/Edwards VM-1 Certification. I also have my State Security Alarm/Fire Alarm License and am a certified Firefighter/EMT/ Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician/Pump Operations/Vehicle Extrication & Rescue Seminar Technician.
How long have you worked at Knight Security Systems and why have you chosen to work here?
I have been with Knight for 4 Years. I chose to work at Knight because I identify with their core Values of Honor, Integrity, Service; those are the core values I go by in my everyday life and in the fire service. Working at Knight also makes you feel like part of a family.
What has been your favorite memory/achievement while working at Knight Security Systems?
My favorite achievements at Knight have been all the new certifications I have gotten the chance to receive as well as obtaining my fire alarm license.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
What I enjoy best about this role is being able to offer our customers the best service and knowledge in the industry. I like knowing when I leave a customer site that they received the best service possible and that they can count on me and Knight Security.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy being with my wife, kids, grandkid, family, and friends. I also enjoy going to church or working on projects at the house. I have been working part-time at the Community Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT for the past 17 years and I love that life.
What are some of your hobbies?
Some of my hobbies include working out, hunting, camping, traveling, spending time with the friends and family, barbecuing, dancing (I'm very good at it!), woodworking - or building things, and volunteering at Fort Bend County Fair and Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I ever received was as a teenager: “Think of yourself as a lifelong learner.” This means you can continue to learn no matter what stage of your career you are in.
What are your favorite holiday movies?
My favorite holiday movies are National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Elf.
