Eanes ISD Scores New Security System
Jun 19, 2017 | Case Studies, Education
Eanes ISD is a shining light in Austin’s scenic, rolling Hill Country area. Its academic and athletic facilities are the envy of many Austin-area districts. What wasn’t shining quite so brightly was an outdated security system consisting of inadequate door hardware, burglary units, closed circuit video and perimeter fencing.
That all started to change when the district reached out to Knight Security Systems, a company well-versed in solving security issues in educational environments.
An academic and athletics powerhouse, the small district west of downtown Austin serves roughly 9,000 students and 2,000 employees across 14 campuses, including six elementary, two middle schools and one high school. It’s responsible for the safety and security of kids from 6–8 weeks old in the Child Development Center through students up to 21 years of age in the Adult Transition Services program.
Prior to an end-to-end Knight build out, security across Eanes ISD was relatively unsophisticated, not quite up to par with their reputation as a premier district in Texas.
