To achieve this level of service to our clients, Knight Security is proposes a SNMP based Network Management System (NMS). This important tool will provide status alerts on every SNMP capable system component by sending e-mail and SMS messages to the Knight Security Support Team for any defined system issues.
The NMS is loaded on a centralized server with distributed polling agent architecture to provide a high performance solution capable of monitoring networks from several hundred devices to tens of thousands. This system will require secure VPN tunnel access into each system (whether provided by our client or Knight Security), and will allow Knight to receive system alerts 24x7x365 for any outages or established system thresholds such as UPS battery levels, network port outage, CPU usage or HD capacity limitations.
While proactive Network Management is not a stated requirement of a typical project, the importance of this tool for the on-going support of your Security System cannot be overstated.
